Whether it's peacetime or wartime, the minds, the spirits,
and the morale of the men and women in the military need to be
kept intact, and one of the greatest contributions to
maintaining a stability in life is through entertainment.
The USO provided and to this day, still provides this
service. Many famous entertainers, such as Bob Hope, Gene Autry,
Marilyn Monroe were amongst those that toured with the USO to
entertain the troops throughout the past 60 years.
During World War II the USO provided entertainment, not only
in the Pacific Theater, but also in the European Theater. On
this page and the few to follow are some of those volunteer's
that provided a break for our troops on the island of Tinian.
