A Personal Cartouche

You may be wondering what the scroll of papyrus at the left represents. I have often wondered about the ancient Egyptians and their methods of communication and how or what the hieroglyphics actually spelled out.

I am not sure what the first symbol at the top is, but the second symbol appears to be that of a crow or raven. The third symbol is also a mystery as to what it actually is, but the fourth appears to be an owl, followed by the crow or raven again. The sixth symbol is the same as the first, and the seventh symbol may represent a rising or setting sun. The eighth again unknown and the ninth might represent a waterway or something along that line.

Anyway, what I do know about this is it is my signature as it would have appeared in ancient Egypt. I thought this was somewhat unique, each symbol represents the letters of Ray Martin.

Personal Favorites

Female Vocalists

  1. Celine Dion (may even be a distant relative)

  2. Babara Striesand (was number one for many years)

Male Vocalists/Groups

  1. Too many to figure out who's number one and the list of favorites would take up too much space here, but here's a partial:

Lee Greenwood
Kenny Rogers
Alabama
The Oak Ridge Boys
Charlie Daniels
Many more

Favorite Song is "Proud to be an American"

Music

To me I enjoy just about anything as long as I can relax to the sounds of a good classical composition, opera, R & B, C & W, Soft Rock, Big Band, or Classic Jazz.

Games

Chess - Nothing like a good game
Mah Jongg - learned to play the real game while stationed in the Far East, but now play it quite often on the computer.

Sports

Football - Go Packers
Horseshoes
Golf
Tennis - when the old bones want to co-operate
Baseball - Used to enjoy the major leagues, but lost interest when they went on strike the first time, haven't paid much attention to it since. The Little Leaguer's are a lot more fun to watch.
